It is oh, so easy to pull back and follow the herd. Sometimes it is pleasurable to hold back and let others do the thinking and the experimenting and it is infinitely better to let someone else be the target for those who are inherently fearful of change and feel the need to poke fun at anyone who lives a little differently. But right now there are way too many fearful followers in the world and it is the fearful followers who will ultimately bring about the destruction of this planet and mankind along with it, unless enough free-thinkers step forward and become the change we all so desperately need.
The toxic laundry habit is a great example and we experience it almost daily. Mention that laundry detergent is one of the worst pollutants in the world and that there is an alternative that is infinitely superior and we have their attention. But the moment we mention the small machine that makes ozone and injects it into the water as it enters the washing machine and you can almost hear the recital of an ode to washing powder playing in their brains. Only COLD water? No washing powder? Nooooo !
Their parents use washing detergent, their grandparents use washing detergent and their friends all use washing detergent. The enormous squeeze of imagined peer-pressure wins the day and another nail is hammered into our collective coffin.
We owe it to our friends, our children, our families and those who do not know what damage detergent is doing to our health and to the environment, to be the change we NEED to see in this world. And if we experience a few butterflies in the tummy at the thought of breaking away from the herd and behaving a little differently, within a few short breaths you will turn around and find all the others following. Hang in there!
